Welcome to The Dowling's Group

Introduction

Established in 1989 by Bob Dowling and Graham Foster, Dowling's was targeted at filling the void left by most engineering companies in the provision of specialised on site engineering services, meeting the need to provide a workforce with a broader range of skills than those found in most traditional workshop based organisations.

An example of Dowling's training philosophy sees boilermaker apprentices complete their trade with qualifications in Rigging, Scaffolding, Crane Driving, First Aid and Tower Rescue and at least one upgrade of their trade certificate completed in their final year -- a clear demonstration of commitment to our Management Motto:

"Our future prosperity is vested
in the personnel we train today".

Management Motto

Dowling's have accumulated a comprehensive range of site related equipment with the ability to draw on workshop fabrication services and on the expertise of several major fabrication contractors from around the state. This gives us the ability to maintain a prompt and extended supply capacity and makes us one of the most flexible engineering contractors in Tasmania, regardless of project size or location.

Dowling's experienced management team boasts combined construction industry experience in excess of 60 years, spanning a broad range of disciplines and utilises the most up to date project management practices to maintain time, cost and quality controls.

Bob Dowling has assumed the role of Managing Director since the retirement of Graham Foster in April 2000 and has continued to grow the business with his son Rob Dowling joining the management team.

The inclusion of Rob into the management team, who has an extensive 13 years experience in the engineering industry, specializing in rigging, scaffolding, fabrication, working at heights and crane work, has helped Dowling's develop several new company divisions, broadening Dowling's services, partnerships and enhancing and controlling services on offer to the industry.
